The history of Troop 895
(Do you have information that would enhance this history? Please let us know!)
Troop 895 was founded by Drew Clayton and Norm Easey in 1997. They had boys in Cub Scouts and founded a Boy Scout troop so their sons would have a place to go when they were ready to cross over.
At first, the troop was charted by and it held its meetings at St. Patrick's Church. It then moved the Disabled American Veterans building, later to the River's Edge Community Church, then the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and finally, on September 8, 2018 to the Church of the Palms. In partnership with leaders of Troop 895 and Church of the Palms, we identified the need to add scouting for elementary aged youth.
Pack 895 is an active Cub Scout Pack that also meets most Monday nights an hour before Troop.
